Travel In LHP is rooted in this esoteric good luck tradition of wearing your HBCU merch to the airport. A classmate of mine once told me to wear my Howard hat to the airport “an alum will pay my tuition” and from that piece of HBCU folklore, Travel In LHP was born. It may sound funny at first, but I think it illuminates a really beautiful part about being a part of an HBCU family. It’s the feeling of protection that you get when you represent your HBCU.

Legacy History Pride Winter Campaign "Black Summit" (Dec. 2025)
Our inspiration begins with Arthur Clay, proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. at @cau1988 , and cofounder of National Brotherhood of Skiers (NBS) whose vision of community and access opened the slopes to Black Americans who dared to adventure.
In 1973, 13 Black ski clubs met in Aspen under the banner of NBS for an event called “Black Summit”, proving the mountain was ours too.
This is an ode to this legacy. Where history meets style, and our joy becomes the summit itself.
